On Wednesday, at 9:00 am, there will be a Council Meeting. Much of this meeting will also be held in-camera. The agenda focuses on the 2025 Council Strategic Planning Session.
- Today is Family Day, and Strathcona County will donate 100% of admissions from recreation facilities to the Everybody Gets To Play program. The program helps families with limited income access local recreation and culture services. A schedule of recreation activities is available online.

- Council has approved the next phase of Ardrossan’s expansion, rezoning nearly 15 hectares for residential and recreational development. The project includes duplexes, single-family homes, and new executive lots, offering larger spaces and triple to quad garages. Site construction will begin this spring, with homebuilding set for 2026. The community’s growth has been fuelled by high demand, with home sales doubling the previous record in 2023. The development also includes a storm pond and trail network to support its expanding population.

Amid US tariff threats, Sherwood Park developers William Boytinck and Matthew Suddaby have created the Shop Canadian app to help consumers identify Canadian-made products. The app, which allows users to scan barcodes for product origin details, has quickly gained traction, surpassing 100,000 downloads and ranking No. 1 in Canada. It is sustained by ad revenue and continues to evolve with new features, including expanded crowd-sourcing and local business promotions. Meanwhile, Ward 4 Councillor Bill Tonita launched the Made In Canada 10 Day Challenge to spotlight local businesses in Strathcona County.
- Sherwood Park - Fort Saskatchewan MP Garnett Genuis suggested that Parliament should be in session rather than prorogued until March 24th. He criticized Prime Minister Trudeau for suspending operations during a time of national challenges, suggesting it was done to benefit the Liberal leadership race. Genuis emphasized the importance of Parliament as a check on executive power, particularly during crises and said that, without Parliament sitting, accountability suffers and key issues remain unaddressed.
